A bunch of horrible-sounding demos recorded between 2014 and 2019, slightly shined-up and assembled into a slippery sequence. I could have re-recorded my sloppy playing, and remixed things to sound nicer, but these things weren't intended for publication. A bit of EQ and compression made them sound slightly less monstrous. Badly sung, badly played, badly recorded, but possibly charming. Lots of mis-sung lyrics, or lyrics you can hear me thinking "ouch! I need to rewrite this!" as I was singing them.

about

Unproduced and mis-engineered by John McGreivey

Recorded in a dimly lit room, except "January", recorded in a car under a tree in a parking lot in a park somewhere near Plainfield, NJ, trying not to look too much like a creep.

"One Life to Live" began life as a Fully Automatic Universe song around 2005. It was in a weird time signature that seemed like a good idea at the time. This is the more sensible, re-organized 2017 version. It is now (2022), in the repertoire of my rock combo SLAM!BANG!.

"I Am a Version of You" and "I Can't Remember (Gin)" are dedicated to my dad.

I want to play "Rock Awhile" with a band, but that hasn't happened.

"We're Not Serious" is an answer song to my friend Josh Cough's fine old band Serious's song "We Are Serious" (recordings still existed somewhere on the interweb). The Bug Jar is the best club in Rochester, NY. The Can of Worms is a local traffic hazard. This also is now also a SLAM!BANG! song.

"Def Leppars" started life around 1984 as Doug Yook's funny idea for a band name. His song and album titles are assembled in this sorry excuse for a song. This song is not his fault, though.

This cover of Kraftwerk's "The Model" will kill bugs.
