Lemon Stevie

by The Harp Seals

/
1.
A tangerine dream; a canteloupe scream A marshmallow sky; a passion fruit cry A tamarind armchair; a strawberry nightmare A gooseberry ocean; a cherry explosion! Tomorrow is different; tomorrow's the same.
2.
Come closer, honey. Pick my hearing aide up off the floor. We'll play our ukuleles hanging from the cellar door. Oh, yeah, here we go again....

about

I needed a couple songs to test out a new (used) 8-track recorder that I bought for Freddie, and these songs were the first ones I opened to in my book of horrors.

Lemon Bars Entry imagines a kindly teenage baked sweet treat working as a night watchman in a cherry orchard, on acid.

My friend Walter wrote the words for Stevie Wonder's Fingertips--suggested, perhaps, by the fact that the song of the same name was the #1 single on the day I was born. The 12" version is way too long, so I made a fade-out 7" version.
